Running Start

Running Start allows Washington State high school juniors and seniors to take college level classes at a community college TUITION FREE, while earning dual high school credit.

Students at EHK-12 take advantage of Running Start for a variety of reasons. For some, it is an opportunity to take rigorous coursework and/or classes that are not available on our campus. Many students participate as full-time Running Start students, earning a 2-year college degree and their high school diploma at the same time.

Students are required to take a placement exam at the community college and place/pass into college-level English (such as English 101). Please call 425.431.1702 or email Emily Pool (poole@edmonds.wednet.edu) with questions pertaining to Running Start.

Independent Homeschool students interested in participating in Running Start should schedule an appointment with the school counselor by contacting the EHK-12 front desk at 425.431.7840.

If you are an existing Running Start student and need your quarterly enrollment authorization form signed, please set up a 15 minute appointment with the counselor by contacting the EHK-12 front desk.
