Equity Team

Equity is:

Intentional actions to ensure we are providing access, inclusion, and

opportunity for ALL students and having intentional outcomes for ALL students

The purpose of the EHK12 Equity Team is to increase cultural awareness across staff and to empower students and families in service of community-wide equity. Equity Team meetings and events are opportunities to gain knowledge, share concerns, and learn about how we can build, be inclusive, and continue to improve our diverse communities and our lives.

In partnership with other EHK12 stakeholders, the Equity Team reviews current school policies and procedures, decision-making processes, allocation of time and money, student and family data, and community engagement strategies in an effort to reduce inequities and disproportionalities that exist and hinder communities of historically underrepresented backgrounds. The Equity team this year has focused on our current discipline policies and procedures, Restorative Justice, and antiracist book studies for new members.

There are several ways to get involved and support our initiatives, please contact Nasarin Ahmed to learn how. Join us for our monthly Equity meetings the third or fourth Wednesday of each month at 4pm.
